The Most Valuable Pitch (MVP) Competition is a pitch competition for high school students in Fort Worth ISD.
Students are invited to submit their innovative ideas for improving and making an impact on their communities.
Students, you will pitch an original idea describing your idea to fill a "vacant lot" in your community. This "vacant lot" can be any space in your community for which you have a vision of a better use for the space. Your empowerment as a student and your value creation will enhance the literal and figurative prosperity of your campus community.

The Executive Summary is submitted on the website and is text only. It should concisely summarize the innovative idea and include an explanation of the problem, the value proposition, and a high-level implementation plan. Note that there is a 250 word limit for each section.

The competition will bring together the MVP students or student teams from across the district in an exciting competition in which they pitch innovative ideas for improving and making an impact on their communities.
Gain Valuable Experience - students will gain experience presenting in front of an audience by pitching their ideas to judges, including local business owners and mentors.
Gain Recognition – Campus, Learning Network, and District MVP's will earn recognition from their campus, the District, and the community at large.
Win Prizes - In the Final Four, students have the opportunity to win prizes.
Celebrate Innovation and Entrepreneurship - See our future business innovators and leaders, be inspired, and celebrate students accepting the challenge of presenting their ideas to an authentic audience.

Video Requirements
The video should grab the viewer’s attention, highlight the innovative idea, and persuade the viewer of the importance of the solution being provided. The video:
- May not exceed 5 minutes
- File size must be less than 100MB
- Must be in MP4 format
- Must have signed release forms from anyone under the age of 18 who appears in the video (forms will be posted on the official website)

The videos must adhere to copyright protection guidelines, including:
- No copyright-protected images, music, or references may be used without express written permission.
- Any videos that include music copyright infringement will be denied. Please cite the music source (artist and song title) at the end of the video, even if the music is public domain.
Judging Criteria
- Explanation of the Problem – How clear is the explanation of the problem being solved and how you recognized and seized the opportunity to improve your "vacant lot"
- Explanation of Value Proposition – How does the proposed solution create value for the community?
- Research – What and how was research conducted in order to validate the proposed solution?
- Innovative Solution – How original or imaginative is the solution that is being proposed?
- Efficient Use of Resources - How your solution creates the greatest benefit while using the least resources.
- Viability – How feasible is the implementation of the proposed solution?
- Engaging Communication – How well did the video effectively communicate the innovative idea?
- The “Why” – How well did the video communicate why the proposed solution matters?
- Impact Measurement – How will success be measured?
Who can compete?
- Any current 9th through 12th grade student in the Fort Worth ISD.
- Students must be 14 years old by the entry deadline
- The competition is 100% free to enter.
- Individuals or groups of no more than four (4) are allowed. If working in a group, all partners must participate equally in their group's pitch.

- Reflect on and identify your innate abilities that can Create Value for others
- Be Opportunity Obsessed and look for Win-Win opportunities
- Look to your Community for inspiration
- Practice Humility by utilizing a mentor and seeking assistance
- Seek the Knowledge of the business model canvas basics
- Spend time practicing pitches with peers and business professionals
How are the MVP's Selected?
- Students will compete in a competition at their respective home campus.
- Each campus will then determine a Campus MVP.
- The Campus MVP will advance to the Learning Network Finals. The Learning Network Finalists will present their idea in a live, five-minute presentation to a panel of judges, followed by a short Q&A session. (This could also be done the same as the campus competitions)
- The judges will score all finalists based on their presentations and answers during the Q&A session to determine the Learning Network MVP.
- Each Learning Network MVP will advance to the Learning Network MVP. The Learning Network MVP’s will present their idea in a live, five-minute presentation to a panel of judges, followed by a short Q&A session.
- The judges will score all Final Four pitches based on their presentations and answers during the Q&A session to determine the District MVP.
